Hi! I like software and the Internet and have been creating innovative products to solve a number of interesting problems for over 20 years. I am currently the CTO at Explorate, where we are building a new web-based platform to simplify the complex world of freight and logistics. A quick history: I co-founded and was director of Mammoth Media, a software development company based in Brisbane, Australia. Mammoth Media was originally founded in 2002 to provide software development and game service management services for Telstra, Australia's largest ISP. It went on to create and manage some of Australia's biggest commercial websites - including BigPond Music and BigPond Movies, two of Telstra's flagship online entertainment properties. Mammoth evolved out of a true passion for video gaming, which led to the creation of AusGamers - one of Australia's oldest and most respected video gaming sites. AusGamers itself grew out of the Queensland Gamers' League, a not-for-profit that become one of the largest and most successful video gaming LAN events in Australia. In 2010, we launched Mammoth Networks, a virtual server hosting business to complement our software services. This evolved into BinaryLane, which is now a leading provider of cheap, simple, on-demand cloud hosting in Australia. In November 2013, I moved to the US to start the process of expanding into a new market. In 2016 I moved to London, seeking some new adventures. I ended up applying my skills in an entirely new industry - fintech. As Head of Product at Euler Hermes Digital Agency, the world leader in trade credit insurance, I led teams building world-first APIs in the space, allowing companies to integrate credit insurance directly into their own applications. I have mentored at incubators, accelerators and Startup Weekends in Brisbane, and was an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at ilab at the University of Queensland, helping locate and grow the next generation of Australian startups. I love supporting startups and have been an angel investor in three ventures, two in Australia and one in the UK.
