GIS skills are continually being used and developed on the ESRI ArcGIS platform.Tasks and achievements:- Preparing, engaging, and managing multiple consultancy briefs relating to economic development and infrastructure funding;- Spatial and data analysis on floor-space capacity modelling;- Creating, managing, maintaining and updating spatial data for the Parramatta CBD Planning Proposal and other major planning projects;- Preparing diagrammatic maps and exporting of GIS data for consultants and internal staff;- Preparing statutory maps and associated GIS data to accompany a future public exhibition of a major planning proposal, as well as site-specific planning proposals in accordance with technical requirements;- Research and analysis on planning matters relating to the review, including transport and parking;- Successfully auditing and merging GIS planning data from five councils to provide an integrated set of data for the City of Parramatta LGA;- Assessing and advising on integration of 14 Contributions Plans across parts of the five former LGAs now within the City of Parramatta;- Taking primary responsibility to administer planning and planning-related GIS data for the organisation with support from other business units across Council;- Developing new skills in 3D modelling of existing built form, existing and proposed planning controls to test impacts of overshadowing on sensitive areas in and around the CBD;- Taking primary responsibility for mapping data and preparation of new planning maps as part of the CIty of Parramatta's Harmonisation Program, which brings 5 LEPs and DCPs into consolidated documents;- Developing and deploying interactive web-based mapping solutions for exhibitions of planning instruments and contributions plans. New data was prepared and applied using a consistent schema of attributes which enables clear relationships to be seen between planning instruments.Tasks and achievements include:- Managing, creating, and auditing planning and planning-related data within Council GIS and corporate property systems resulting in significant improvements to data quality and confidence for the organisation.- Preparing planning maps in accordance with statutory requirements using the CadCorp SIS GIS application.- Preparing technical documents and procedures.- Providing specialised advice to business units within Council.- Developing an understanding and appreciation of relational databases, schema construction, and data analysis techniques.- Collaborating with other business units of Council and external agencies in relation to data supplies for planning purposes.- Reverse-engineering formulas within the City of Ryde Section 94 Plan 2007 to prepare a new calculator to compute S.94 contributions after a previous database application was grandfathered.- Giving lectures to GIS students at Macquarie University and overseeing research field work for Land Use studies and Public Transport Accessibility Level (PTAL) analysis.
