I am a general counsel with 20+ years of cumulative experience leading corporate legal functions, commercial transactions, employment law and litigation, and business and legal compliance for publicly traded companies as well as an Am Law 100 law firm.I began my legal career at Morgan Lewis representing a wide range of businesses in state and federal labor and employment matters across various industries (manufacturing, financial services, healthcare, higher education, technology, and retail). From there, I continued advising on labor and employment matters for Sodexo, Inc., a global food service and facilities company, with more than 110,000 employees nationwide.In 2006, I joined LandAmerica Financial Group, a Fortune 500 real estate transaction services company, as its sole employment and employee benefits attorney, advising on a variety of issues involving hiring and compensation practices, employee counseling and discipline, and benefits plan interpretation.Since 2008, I have served in multiple legal leadership roles (from Senior Counsel to currently as General Counsel, Americas) at Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL), a Fortune 200 commercial real estate services company. My work encompasses advising on corporate strategy, legal operations management, commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, litigation and employment, and regulatory compliance. Additionally, I serve as the co-leader of the Global Litigation Center of Excellence, which established global practice groups as part of the company’s legal operations. I have managed the company’s litigation portfolio across commercial, employment, intellectual property, and shareholder matters, and I have been an integral part of creating and maintaining the company’s global compliance and investigations procedures.In my daily work, I thrive on building trust and consensus with stakeholders and senior management while also mitigating risk and providing sound legal advice that solves complex business problems in the best interests of the company.
