After decades working with leaders to support decisions, I recognised that we had got it wrong. Decisions are about the unknown, not the known. It is about what could happen, now what happened that data reports. I have spent over a decade revolutionizing decision support. How does a human get to a point of decision making and how do they gain the confidence to select a path. And how do we demonstrate due diligence and risk management to stakeholders.I have worked in multiple sectors in multiple countries and have had roles with significant responsibilities to consulting to running a technology business. I have been recognized by IBM for innovation leadership, written books, done guest lectures and spoken internationally on the subject.I have been involved in aspects of military intelligence, banking regulation, politics, and education that have shaped my approach to rethinking how we support the human mind to make better decisions.I saw simulation (scenarios) as critical for certainty of success and minimising risk. Regulators also saw this, demanding a greater level of scenarios, stress tests and recoverability planning. International reporting standards require improved certainty of futures in IFRS8 and IFRS9/CECL. Part of the certainty is replacing forecasting with future-casting where futures are deducted with more empirical evidence.Unless it is pragmatic, cost effective, no one will do it. Based on years of experience in mining, logistics, government, defence, manufacturing, retail and banking I pushed for our teams to create a solution that fits with the natural way of working. That replaces tedious, manual, error prone work with stimulating work that increases productivity, reduces costs and provides what decision makers need.The exciting area is that with most executives expect to use AI assistants to help them with decision making. DX with simulations and future-casting provides the foundation for this AI revolution beyond any other competitor in the market.I have considerable experience in transforming the middle office and taking decision making into the future where Bank CEOs are like F1 teams where winning is 70% on paper.
