I worked on a Data Governance system called Data Marketplace. Modelled on an Amazon.com style shopping site, it enabled companies to search, manage and categorise their databases & systems.✱ I implemented new UI features using React, Typescript + Jest/TDD, CI (Continuous Integration).✱ I worked closely with design teams to implement their UX wireframes within the frontend.✱ Collaborated with server developers to define the REST API contract, so UI state could be persisted via microservices and saved to the Hibernate / Postgres Database.✱ I worked with PM, UX teams to flesh out the requirements using Agile processes such as scrums, story-time planning, retrospectives, sprint planning & iteration demos.✱ Involved in peer code reviews & worked closely with QA teams to maintain feature quality. ✱ Managed relationships with the support team, to help solve issues for customers.✱ Ran scrums on occasions using Jira, so Soft Eng, QA teams based in India, US could engage.✱ Mentored junior developers to help them upskill and learn the system archeteccture.

Member of a team migrating the on-premise Data Quality tools into the cloud/AWS. The actual application was called RuleBuilder, which enabled the creation of generic rules to process data. ✱ These rules were applied to inputs in compound fashion and then saved to the standard format used throughout the company, to enable the export into other apps within the company suite.✱ I implemented new features requested by PM using Java/Javascript using Agile methodologies.

I worked on a team which developed a WindowsOS application called the DeveloperTool.✱ We used Java / Eclipse / Oracle to produces UI components, which provided a library of data quality rules to be applied to the data.✱ This was used by developers within organisations to perform data integration/data quality using pre-defined rules to link their systems/databases, which was configured via a visual interface.I also worked on a web application, called the Reference Table Mgr. Its purpose was to work in conjunction with the above application, but to be used by Business analysts’.✱ It provided Excel style grid operations to manage CRUD operations on tables of data. These data sets were used in Mappings (a set of rules to process data) to automate the cleaning of data ✱ I worked on both the Frontend/Backend using Google Web Toolkit + java / struts on backend.

I developed web applications using PHP, which were used in the healthcare/bio-technology sector. The systems managed content such as patient information/clinical data.

I worked on 2 different versions of a Content Management System, which generated sport statistics pages for some of BBC Sports’ highest profile sites such as; (a) World Cup 2002/06 statistics (b) WML Mobile-phone site (c) Football results service on the Ceefax-Teletext on TV.Java CMS / Feed parsing sys - v2:✱ Due to architectural failings and new requirements, a complete rewrite of the system took place.✱ I worked on a team lead by an Architect, which developed the new system using various agile techniques such as Test Driven Development, re-factoring & development iterations.✱ I was involved in all areas of software life cycle through the requirements-gathering, development, testing phases up to launch. ✱ Also provided assistance to our support staff out of hours.Feed parsing system v1:✱ We agreed protocols with third party companies to enable them to send us sport results via XML feeds. This data was parsed, saved in our database and rendered in to produce the live pages.✱ I inherited the system and was responsible for developing the publishing logic and for creating new sport sites when there were editorial requests from journalists.

Designed user interfaces for e-commerce applications which integrated with the smart card payment systems ‘Mondex’ on the backend. Produced in Visual C++/MFC for Windows machines.
