The ITAD Works have established systems and processes to manage IT asset disposition. Their innovative methods are becoming increasingly important as compliance, security and financial constraints demand more and more attention in the board room. The role began as a contract position to project manage and support the design and delivery of a new bespoke application and infrastructure as a part of a larger business restructuring program and technical realignment, after which I was invited to join the team and head the IT function on a permanent basis.- Lead business analysis and requirements gathering.- Perform customer research and insights activities.- Launch The ITAD Works web App. Parallel implementation and integration with back-office COTS ERP system. - Project manage software and hardware deliverables to an immovable go-live date.- Systems design, prototyping, workshops, wire-framing and UX design. - UAT and iterative feedback loop. CLS plays a fundamental role in the foreign exchange (FX) market – it operates the largest multi-currency cash settlement system to mitigate settlement risk for the FX transactions of its members and their customers. Owned by the world's leading financial institutions, CLS settles payment instructions relating to underlying FX transactions in 17 major currencies and certain other transactions that result in one-way payments in a subset of those currencies. As the IBM Technical Lead for the CLS Bank, my role was key to the Service Delivery Organisation within the CLS Program. It was a customer facing position in a highly demanding organisation requiring strong project management skills to manage concurrent work streams, the ability to articulate complex problems to the customer under pressure situations, and to think clearly and logically to resolve problems when they occur. Operating within a high availability and ITIL governed environment, the role encompassed technical and managerial aspects and was both reactive and proactive. Technical Leads are required to be self-motivated, forward thinking and able to ‘think outside of the box’.
