After rejoining in 2008 as CTO, I rejuvenated the company’s R&D team and product portfolio, and masterminded their move from a pure motor company to a “hardware-software company” serving the food and beverage retail industry with a range of SaaS, IoT, and hardware products. On a day to day basis, I managed a team of up to 40 hardware, firmware, and mechanical engineers and software developers. I also spent a lot of time with customers and sales team as the company's "technology evangelist", and with the technical team getting "hands on" with the gnarlier problems. As part of the core exec team I was responsible for technology strategy and roadmap, IP management, front-end research, and product development and support. At various times in AoFrio's growth I have also held responsibility for most "non sales and finance" functions of the company, including product management, supply chain, manufacturing engineering, applications engineering, quality and marketing, as well as contributing hands-on to new product development and troubleshooting.
