I develop Gherkin/Selenium (Web Driver)/Specflow tests in C# using Visual Studio 2019 IDE with Team Foundation Server in an Agile environment. I also use JMeter, Fiddler and Postman.I have created a test framework that supports the intuitive creation of consistent Restful API tests. The framework supports running test suites against systems deployed in a Microsoft Azure environment. Tests can be tagged to run as part of the CI pipeline managed by Team City.I'm currently investigating and experimenting with the cypress testing framework.

I developed test automation scripts using Python (including libraries that support Canbus/NMEA2000) and Froglogic's Squish within a Linux environment. Products under test run a custom Linux build (BusyBox based) and software developed with QT. I also maintained Python and BASH scripts which support remote test automation over SSH in conjunction with a Continuous Integration build server and have developed a new JSON based data interchange standard.I work directly with application developers in an AGILE/SCRUM environment in order to rapidly develop both functional and UI tests for validation and regression purposes. I have owned and assumed sole responsibility for a number of projects and have led a small team.

Deployed a Linux based network of computers providing Internet access within the Hub's Internet Cafe. This also involved writing a custom session management system using QT.Implemented a web filtering system using NxFilter. This allowed a simple DNS based approach to filtering, combined with an IP address based mechanism for authenticating client machines.Provided front line support and education to customers on IT issues.

Textpression is a regex design tool.Written in Delphi (soon to be rewritten in either C# or QT), Textpression combines the following technologies:A high-performance regex parser implemented by myself from the ground up;An innovative user interface that allows drag and drop creation of regex;A fully validated custom XML based storage format.Textpression is an ambitious and long-term (it's still in development after 13 years) project that combines my interest in regex with a determination to reduce unnecessary complexity whenever I see it. As part of the Textpression project, I maintain Textpression.com, a Wordpress based site that has helped to improve my HTML, PHP and CSS skills.

I developed software for defense related projects using a number of languages and tools, including C/C++, ADA, Delphi, Mathcad and Java to ISO 9001 standards. I gained experience of the Waterfall methodology.I worked in both Windows and Unix based environments. I learned to feel equally at ease with both command line development and GUI tools including MS Visual C++. I used source control tools including Visual SourceSafe.I was involved in a number of hardware deployment trials.
