I have 41 years of experience practicing emergency medicine including urgent care, largely in the greater Houston area. During my years of practice I have been on the faculties of 3 different emergency medicine residencies and am currently a voluntary clinical assistant professor at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. My academic subspecialty is psychiatric emergencies, in particular mood and anxiety disorders. I have published original research in peer-reviewed journals and have been an invited speaker at national and international meetings where my topics have included emergency department treatment of depression and suicidality, anxiety disorders and delirium vs. dementia vs. psychosis.
