David holds a Residential Contractors License and a Florida Real Estate Brokers License. His degree is in Marketing from Boston College's Carroll School of Management. He has extensive experience (over 30 years) in all aspects of sales and marketing for a variety of businesses and industries, including direct sales, advertising, market research, public relations and publicity.David also has over 20 years' experience in operations, organizational management, and strategic planning. He helped grow a company from $12 million in sales volume to over $50 million in less than five years, and founded a building company that received numerous awards and national recognition, including over a dozen feature articles in Professional Builder Magazine.From 2009 until 2014 David was the Director of Sales for Neal Communities, one of Southwest Florida's most experienced home builders, where unit sales increased over 300% in the 5 years. Neal averaged over 40% unit volume growth per year and had over 30% market share in their home County. Neal had 835 home sales for over $237,000,000 in sales volume in 2013, making Neal the 50th largest building company in the U.S.In 2014 David took a position as the Operations Manager for Emerald Homes, a DR Horton Company. He supervised construction, purchasing, sales and land acquisition for the Emerald Division for Tampa and Sarasota, including one of the luxury brands' most successful spot lot programs in the Country. From mid 2016 until late 2018, David was the Area President for M/I Homes' new start up Division serving Sarasota and Manatee counties. In just over 2 1/2 years, they built the Sarasota Division for a Top 15 National Home Builder from the ground up, supervising over $75 million in investment, acquiring over 1000 lots and a dozen new communities. The Division earned the number one spot in the Company for Customer Satisfaction in 2017.From 2019 until 2021, David was the VP and Project Manager for Aqua, a 500+ acre Community on the Bay in Manatee County with entitlements for 2894 homes and 78,000 sq. ft of commercial space. He was also responsible for building the Sarasota / Manatee area's first Crystal Lagoon. In June of 2021, David returned to Lee Wetherington Homes as the CEO.
