I currently serve as President and General Manager of WBIR-TV the NBC affiliate in Knoxville, Tennessee which is owned by TEGNA Media. I have over 30 years of experience in leading result driven teams at several levels at TEGNA which have required strong leadership in all aspects of staff management, team building, content transformation, revenue generation, driving innovation, special projects, newscast production, remote coordination and community service. Past experience includes serving as the lead Olympic Athlete content producer and coordinator for TEGNA owned NBC stations starting with the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City and continuing through the 2016 games in Rio de Janeiro. In 2007, I developed the 9NEWS HotShots program which trained (10) high school students how to shoot, edit and distribute video for our on-air and digital properties. I also served as Executive Producer of NFL Preseason Broadcasts for the Denver Broncos, (4) Super Bowls, (2) Stanley Cup Championships, the 2007 World Series Championship and the 2008 Democratic National Convention.I currently serve as a board member for the United Way of Greater Knoxville, InterFaith Health Center and recently concluded a 6-year term at the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce as part of the Talent Council subcommittee, with a primary focus on recruiting and training our workforce for the future.Volunteer service includes Second Harvest Food Bank and the Knoxville Area Urban League’s annual “Shoes for School” program which provides over 1500 pairs of shoes to kids for the first day of school.
