It’s never been more interesting to work in communications, and first and foremost I love the challenge and satisfaction of crafting and delivering PR campaigns. In my experience, PR is the art of organising information and intelligence to meet specific objectives, or creating ‘something out of nothing’. That’s not easy. The industry may continue to rapidly change, but my academic and strategic understanding of communications has allowed me to embrace new mediums – particularly integrated, multi-channel campaigns.I founded Frontier Public Relations Ltd in 2007, after seven years working for consultancies and the 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games, and graduating in a BA Honours in American Studies, and gaining a post graduate diploma in Public Relations.Over ten years as a self-starter been fascinating, a never ending education in the raw building blocks of business, and I now enjoy the self-awareness of knowing my strengths and weaknesses.I’ve made my fair share of honest mistakes over the years, both in public relations and business, but I’m proud to say I’ve learnt from them all, and I’m always willing to listen, share or compare wisdom. My biggest lesson? That happiness plus motivation equals success. – and enjoy the journey.Professional interests: smart cities and sustainable urban environments, clean-technology, housing and place-tech, people.Personal interests: music, travel, surfing, Manchester United, people.
