David Rankin has both private and public sector leadership experience, having served 9 years as Associate VP Business Operations at the University of British Columbia (UBC) and 20 years at Dow Canada. His role at UBC was to incorporate private sector strategy and tactics into the University’s ancillary operations improving both NOI and speeding progress towards its strategic goals. While at Dow Canada where continuous improvement and strong project management discipline was well entrenched in the operating culture, he led several large process improvement projects to speed capital project delivery, plant reliability and reduce plant operating expenses. During his 20 year career there he won several quality awards for his facilitation of process improvement and securing strategic partnership agreements. A successful change agent, and comfortable in any business environment, he has introduced, coached and managed strategic change at a senior executive level.
