I'm currently working with writers, scholars, and institutions on articles, books, web sites and other media focused on the arts of Bali.Since 2013, I've developed and curated three exhibitions of Balinese art: "Ketut Madra and 100 Years of Balinese Wayang Painting"​ and "Illuminating Line: Master Drawings of I Gusti Nyoman Lempad,"​ at Ubud's Museum Puri Lukisan, and "The Storytelling Art of Bali" at the Indonesian Consulate in New York.Over the past 30-plus years I've advised leaders of universities, foundations, museums, and technology companies and start-ups on strategic communication.Co-founder of AScribe, the Public Interest Newswire (1997-2011), I held senior communications positions at the American University in Cairo (2006-08), UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business (1985-97) and Harvard's schools of government (1983-85) and business (1981-83). I also served as deputy director and research director in the Boston Mayor's Office of Marketing and Development (1980-81), communications consultant to Harvard President Derek Bok (1979-80), and chief speechwriter to Massachusetts Governor Michael Dukakis (1976-79).Current focus: Independent curator of Balinese art; consultant on strategic communications and policy; media and constituency relations; research, writing and story telling.
