My work entails the design development, detail design, the full gamut of construction requirements and the requisite client, professional team and contractor communication & coordination on and off site.Mall of Africa, Midrand, South Africa (GLA 131,000 sq.m)New Construction 520,000 sq.m (ZAR 4.2 billion / +- GBP 200 million)Project period 5 years / Construction period 2 years (2014-2016)I delivered 102,000 sq.m of roof comprising 4,000 sq.m of ETFE, 2,600 sq.m of bespoke roof glazing and the rest a combination of predominantly sheeted roof with post-tensioned and reinforced concrete slabs. My responsibilities further included the detail and delivery of 2,500 sq.m of façade glazing at the three primary public entrances. Post contract work (2016-2020) included roof level defects and roof performance monitoring with a recent upgrade to the ETFE roof and mall HVAC.Sandton City, Sandton, South Africa (GLA 199,000 sq.m)- Internal mall extension finishes and mall services due to mall reconfiguration- New multi-tenant waste management facility to cater for the public and tenant waste (300 tenants, stores and restaurants), adjacent hotel, and adjoining Nelson Mandela Square (88 tenants, stores and restaurants)- Alice Lane (streetscape), anchor tenant delivery, delivery yard redevelopment and new storage tenantRosebank Mall, Johannesburg, South Africa (GLA 65,800 sq.m)- Development, detailing and delivery of a vehicular ramp roof over existing tenants with alterations to the shopping mall facade in this area.- New public toilets with ancillary public amenities as part of a major anchor reconfiguration.The Mall, Sofia, Bulgaria (GLA 61,900 sq.m)Mall food court refurbishment 4000sq.m delivered remotely during the Covid pandemic
