I am proud to have served on the Board of Directors for The George G. Glenner Alzheimer's Family Centers (creator of Town Square), a non-profit provider of day programs in a family-like setting for adults affected by Alzheimer’s Disease and other forms of memory impairment, as well as support services for people who care for those with memory impairment.I was elected Chair of the Board of Directors in April 2014. As Board Chair, I helped lead the team that designed and constructed the world-renowned Town Square Chula Vista, a ground-breaking program inside a "mini 1950's-style town" that provides engaging activities for people with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. We successfully conducted a multi-million dollar capital campaign, and I helped forge a national strategic alliance that has resulted in more than 15 Town Square locations being constructed around the United States. As a Board member, I also provided direction in areas related to budgeting and finance, fundraising and donor cultivation, branding, community outreach, community partnerships, and governance of the organization.

As Treasurer of the board of directors, I also served on the Executive Committee. I chaired the Bylaws Committee, was chair of the Economic Development Committee, and was Vice Chair of the Board.In 2012, and again in 2013, the San Diego City Council awarded me a commendation to recognize my commitment to improving the quality of life in San Diego.Among the accomplishments of the BID during my tenure are: * Creation of a weekly Farmers Market, which makes fresh, locally-grown produce available to residents. * Removal of parking meters from sidewalks, to make the area more accessible to pedestrians, and people with wheelchairs & walkers. * Approval from the San Diego City Council for creation of a monument and ADA-compliant crosswalk, to make the gateway into Mission Hills more beautiful and accessible to handicapped and elderly people. * Creation of street fairs and community activities, which have been widely attended and have contributed to a greater sense of community in Mission Hills.
