I am the owner and creative director of DJB Design LLC, a visual design firm that specializes in brand marketing and storytelling, editorial, book design, and UX/UI design. Some of DJB Design's major clients include Rivian, an electric vehicle company, where I designed visual creative for their social media channels and blog; Alabama Media Group, for whom I created all visuals for a Pulitzer Prize-winning series (State of Denial); Tribune Publishing, where I co-led a team of four to build, teach and implement a new content management and publishing software to 125 designers and editors; and companies in the energy section for whom I designed both internal and external communications and large-format graphics, and editing and retouching photos for high-visibility presentations and documents. I have conceptualized and designed visual brand identities for new businesses; nonprofits including the official branding for New Orleans Pridefest; and political candidates, for whom I created logos, websites, campaign signs, and all print and digital materials from launch and beyond Election Day.I have designed several books and enjoy finding the right coupling for words and visuals. My most recent decent design is available here: https://tinyurl.com/4nyyt9zpPrior to launching DJB Design, I worked as regional director for a design and editing studio of 45 visual designers and content designers that produced daily, weekly, and special publications for 16 markets in eight states.One of my passion projects is Queer Cartography, a poster-publishing project that documents the untold or less-told stories of New Orleans’ queer and gay past. Each poster seeks to showcase an event, place, person or era that had a formative impact on the LGBTQ+ community. With my co-founders, we research, write, and design each poster. The posters are often showcased and sold at public speaking engagements and events, and placed into as many public venues as possible for LGBTQ+ visibility, community engagement, and education.I love to use graphic design as a tool to inform, engage, and inspire clients and audiences.
