Working with EY Shinnihon in Tokyo on a transfer contract.Primary assignment is to work on a large and complex transformation program for a global insurer. Transformation program is aimed at the Policy Administration Systems supporting their Auto business. Scope of work includes implementing Guidewire PolicyCenter & BillingCenter and integration to approximately 23 surrounding systems managed by multiple 3rd party vendors.My role on this program was Design Management Lead where I managed complex design issues relating to the implementation of internal functionality as well as issues pertaining to end to end integration. I also lead a data migration team where we worked with a 3rd party in designing & developing a data migration solution to bring policies from their legacy system through to PolicyCenter at the time of renewal.

Continued to support a large Australian insurer and provide architecture and design services through their BAU phase of the Claims Administration System. Worked on various enhancements during this time such as integration to a new Policy Administration System (architect/design interfaces between claims system and multiple source policy systems), worked with the travel and marine business units in order to understand their high level requirements and deliver proof of concepts within the current claims eco-system as well as plans to implement full support for these business units. During this time I became a trusted advisor to the claims business, the software development manager and architecture team. I finished working with that client in August 2013.In January 2014, I started working on a policy transformation program in Tokyo for a large global insurer. My role was as a design management lead where I took on complex design issues (internal application architecture issues as well as end to end integration issues) and saw them through to resolution. I also lead a data migration team through the inception phase understanding the requirements of the migration, developing a strategy for end to end data migration & reconciliation and providing cost estimates.In July 2014, I was seconded to EY Shinnihon to work on the development phase of the same transformation program

Since joining Ernst and Young I have been engaged in a claims transformation program at a large Australian insurance carrier.My involvement has been around: - Implementation of Guidewire's ClaimCenter application including configuration and integration. - Working with third parties, the clients internal teams as well as offshore resources to develop to functional requirements and to develop integrations between ClaimCenter and new and existing applications through an enterprise service bus.

In this role I was responsible for the design and implementation of a document generation application, initially Opus Forms which was replaced by Adobe Central Pro/Output Designer. Some of the forms I implemented include Insurance Schedules, Statements, Claim Forms, Workers Compensation Declarations, Cheques, and reports.Support and development for Lotus Notes application became more prevalent from 2005 through to 2007 where I was responsible for the client data system, contained in this platform, for the financial services business. Working with key business people, developing requirements and technical solution designs formed part of the support services I provided. I was also involved in development of various other Lotus Notes based applications.Some of the other applications I managed and supported during this time include a credit card processing system, document imaging and archival solution, and the development on in house application based on the Java platform (including API's like Swing and Hibernate).From 2007 until now, I have been involved in a project which involves the replacement of the existing legacy claims management system. The application is Guidewire's Insurance Suite where we have currently utilised ClaimCenter and ContactCenter. As an application developer on this project, I am responsible for working with business analysts on understanding requirements, developing solutions based on specifications, handover of solution, and defect fixes. This project has exposed me to the Agile project management methodology as well as more refined Software Development Life Cycles and defect tracking, resolution processes. Technically I have had a wider exposure to Java and J2EE, as well as technologies such as XML, Web Services, Ant, Eclipse, CVS & SVN and Microsoft SQL.

In this role, I was in a team responsible for taking, managing, and resolving service desk calls for all divisions of the group. It also involved network administration (domain controllers, routers, wan, lan, firewall & proxy server).
