Managing the overall IT operations for a first class leading Perth based Mining Analytics company, from desktop support through to Server/Network infrastructure and beyond. My role was continued across to Bureau Veritas when they bought the company in 2009.• Manage a team of IT support staff.• Vendor Management / IT Procurement.• Support for desktop fleet of over 250 computers.• Management of Windows, specialised Linux servers and Web servers that deliver customer results over the Internet.• Backups & Disaster Recovery.• Programming/Maintenance of in-house LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) that is designed using C language under Linux.• Exposure to a large range of specialised mining analysis instruments and automation systems, including Panalytical Super Q XRF/XRD spectrometers, Perkin Elmer/Optima/Thermo ICP MS and AES, Leco Thermogravimetry TGA instruments including many different balances/scales with electronic weight transfer to PC and customised automation systems using ABB Robotics & Allen Bradley PLC automation.• Lead innovation for how the delivery of customer data is presented to the client, enhancement of the existing LIMS platform to automate various manual tasks, designed and implemented an in-house Human Resources system to allow the HR department to save a lot of time with their day to day work load and the list goes on...
