Senior Manager
Over 11 years, I held progressively senior financial roles: - Manager Investor Relations: reporting to the CFO, responsibilities included developing the inaugural strategic investor relations program for the company, managing corporate development activities (mergers, acquisitions and divestitures), and overseeing the company’s DB and DC pension plan investments (~$500 million in assets).- Manager Corporate Finance: reporting to the CFO, responsibilities included supporting the organization’s growth through identifying mergers, acquisitions and divestiture opportunities (including the $650 million merger with Slocan Forest Products, $140 million divestiture program and $250 million cost reduction program), the allocation of strategic capital, strategic analysis initiatives, managing the quarterly and annual planning and budgeting process, and mentoring a direct report.- Assistant Corporate Controller: reporting to the VP & Corporate Controller, responsibilities included managing the preparation of all internal and external financial reporting, managing the quarterly and annual planning and budgeting process, managing the external audit process, and mentoring six direct reports.- Manager Financial and Capital Analysis: reporting to the VP & Treasurer, responsibilities included daily cash / debt management, cash banking relationships and pension investments, and overseeing the company's capital expenditure program.- Operations controller (Prince George): reporting to the Regional GM, responsibilities included supporting the growth and effective operation of two sawmills, responsible for all financial aspects for the sawmills (monthly financial results, forecasts and cost control), and mentoring and developing four direct reports.- Internal auditor: reporting to the VP & Internal Auditor, responsibilities included ensuring all business units complied with corporate policies and internal controls in financial and management information systems.
