There were bricks, windows, and doors, and just about anything could be constructed given enough imagination! I was 3 and my parents unknowingly set me on course to becoming a Building Surveyor with this one small act.Fast forward a lot of Lego, meccano and tinkering with real building materials and I somehow have renovated 4 conversion properties (church, oast house, Victorian school and a barn), qualified as a Residential Building Surveyor (and a Party Wall Surveyor) and now get to spend my days looking at all the wonderful properties the West Country has to offer.WHERE I AM NOWWith over 20 years Built Environment experience (to Director level) my career has recently involved national surveying field force management and multi-million pound budget responsibilities. More recently repositioning to being building conservation focused I now specialise in advising on interesting pre purchase properties and those in need of repair.WHAT I DOWhen ‘on the ladders’ I specialise in surveying conversion and thatched properties, notably Georgian & Victorian municipal buildings converted to homes.
