David writes and produces audio and video through his independent production unit. He oversees pre and post production, does budget analysis and finalizes scripts and call sheets for shoots. He makes big decisions, especially when it comes time to steer the brand in a new direction and to try new things. He contracts out assistant producers, directors of photography, crew and actors as needed and supervises anywhere from 3-35 people depending on the scope of the project.

David is primarily responsible for developing a vision for the finished project, and defines a practical route for achieving it. He oversees and support writing the films script as required. During pre-production, David is responsible to make crucial decisions, such as selecting the right cast, crew and locations for the film also direct rehearsals, and the performances of the actors once the film is in production. He manages the technical aspects of filming, including the camera, sound, lighting, design and special effects departments. During post production, he works closely with editors through many technical processes of editing, to reach the final cut or version of the film or video. At all stages, he is responsible for motivating the team to produce the best possible results and appreciates the needs and expectations of the projects' clients.

David J. Curtis’ film credits include principal roles in R.I.P.D., YTF: The Movie, Diamond Ruff, 4 Cambridge Center, The Maiden Heist, Under the Hood, Edge of Darkness, The Last Harbor and the independent supernatural thriller, Possessions. He can also be seen in The Proposal, Mall Cop, Shutter Island, The Town, and the PBS documentary, Slavery and the Making of America. David has also performed in many industrial videos, live events, voiceovers and a host of regional and national television commercials. David’s stage credits include the Lyric Stage’s production of "Broke-ology," the Huntington Theatre Company’s productions of "Fences," "Brendan" and "Mauritius," a staged reading of "ONE4DeBROVAS" at The New Federal Theatre in New York, Company One’s productions of "The Last Days of Judas Iscariot" and "A More Perfect Union," The Our Place Theatre, Inc. African American Theatre Festival’s productions of "Dark As A Thousand Midnights," "Spunk," "Ascension," and "Mama, I Want to Sing," Boston Arts Academy’s production of “The Sing Song Show,” and Roxbury Community College/Emerson Stage’s productions of "A Streetcar Named Desire," and 12 Angry Jurors" (both garnering IRNE nominations). He is also an accomplished musician having been a percussionist/drummer, producer, engineer and composer. For the future, in addition to acting, David sees himself writing and directing a few screenplays and films, because of his love of storytelling.

The Technical Supervisor leads floor operations with a focus on customer service, staff leadership and development. The Technical Supervisor directly leads the technical team to ensure operational efficiencies and customer satisfaction.

David is a volunteer Director, Technical Director, Producer and Sound Engineer at BNN for many of the shows that are live and recorded. In addition, David will also man the cameras to round out many of the stations shows. David is also a talk show host for "The A.C.E. Show," (Artists of Color in Entertainment), which showcases artists of color who are active in the local entertainment field.

As a Live Sound Engineer, David was responsible for AV equipment set-up and operations, event production operations and to operate professional sound equipment to achieve superior sound quality in a wide variety of this includes being able to determine the placement of additional speakers, amps, and microphones, and operate digital audio consoles providing level control, echo cancellation, and multiple feeds for room audio, recording and webcasting. Also does customizing the sound reinforcement configuration for a variety of layouts and participant arrangements.In this position he has gained a vast amount of varied field and exhibits some leadership experience in the Audio Visual industry. He functioned in the experienced field as a dedicated engineer while concurrently functioning as onsite leadership contributing to the overall scope of the recording.
