As a first-generation college student whose life trajectory was profoundly influenced by higher education, I've dedicated the past two decades to enhancing colleges and universities' ability to effectively support their students and communities. Today I serve as Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Chief Academic Officer of the University of North Carolina System, where I oversee the academic quality, innovation, and success of the 17 public institutions that serve over 240,000 students across the state. My work builds on 20 years of experience in higher education leadership, academic administration, policy analysis, and enrollment management.My mission is to advance the UNC System's strategic priorities and goals, enhancing student access and affordability, fostering faculty excellence, promoting research and innovation, and strengthening community and economic engagement. I work with the president, the board of governors, the chancellors, and other stakeholders to develop and implement policies and initiatives that advance the academic mission and vision of the UNC System.
