About David Jesch

“Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure... than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat."-Theodore Roosevelt- Ever since my childhood I have been impressed by the space programs of the 60’s and the tremendous accomplishments of engineers back then. This inspiration made me do my best throughout my studies and I have never stopped 'daring mighty things'. I feel both tremendously lucky and at the same time grateful to everyone who helped me achieve my goals and get where I am right now: the flight dynamics division of the European Space Agency, where I have the privilege of working on science missions with a special research topic focusing on the Martian atmosphere. My education as a physicist gave me a solid foundation in mathematics and physics on which I have been able to build on ever since. It has helped me broaden my knowledge, learn new concepts and understand new ideas quickly and efficiently regardless of the specific topic. During my studies in mechatronics engineering (BSc) I specialized in mechanical engineering modeling with an emphasis on computer-aided engineering. I have been involved in many different projects during which I have been exposed to both experimental and numerical/theoretical perspectives. I have acquired in-depth knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, combustion and numerical methods partly owing to the PhD program in turbulent combustion modeling.I have been the member of many international groups in multiple countries and I have had a long and exciting sports career which has taught me important lessons about being part of a team. I am ever curious and interested in almost anything ranging from politics and history to neuroscience and artificial intelligence which also led me to blogging (voyager.blog.hu and newdeal.blog.hu).

Listed skills include Matlab, Combustion, Microsoft Office, Latex, and 10 others.
