Achievements:• Created and implemented the first formalised support structure for the organisation as Mandalay Technologies transitioned from developer-based support. Achievements:• Acted as principal technical consultant on a number of strategic engagements which resulted in direct consultancy revenue as well as the design of future engagements valued at greater than $3 million.o South African Coal Project: (6 project staff – 1 onsite) Role: On-site technical Expert  Project Type: Process and Technical Review engagement. Undertook status review of long-term project and conducted Business/ Process and Technical Analysis to develop a roadmap for future engagements Revenue: $80,000 for the engagement with a commitment of $3.25 million for future contracts.o Canadian Diamond Project: (8 project staff – 3 onsite) Role: Strategic Engagement Technical Team Lead  Project Type: Strategic Review Engagement Reviewed the client’s current operational status and produced an “As Is” Model, a “To Be” Model, and a Strategic Roadmap for Future Development. Revenue: $95,000 for the engagement, with a further $250,000 committed to future work.• Performed a structured Design and Code Review of the entire existing code base for an Enterprise application suite during which more than 2000 issues were identified. From the review, I produced a coding and design standards document with associated processes to remedy the identified issues and reduce the probability of them occurring in the future.• Designed and implemented a single modelling standard that was then used to bring together a number of isolated applications into a standard structure.• Brought together and led a Tiger-Team to resolve an urgent problem that may have resulted in the loss of a multi-million dollar contract. Interacted directly with the client to identify the root cause of the problem and once identified, directed the developers on a “hot-fix” solution as well as the more permanent solution provided in the next release cycle.

Achievements:• Introduced and implemented SOA, SCRUM and other agile design and development methodologies which both reduced delivery timeframes and code re-work.• Designed and led the development of o An Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) application that is now in use world-wide. This application replaced a set of fragile and non-fault tolerant tools that were costing a significant amount in support costs.o A proprietary label design and printing winform application for high volume printing machines. This application supported foreign languages and characters as well as complex graphics.• Designed and developed an “Occasionally Connected” application for a Windows Mobile device which replaced a manually intensive batch application. By reducing the cost of operating the application, SASTEK was able to target more clients and sell more units. • Developed a web-development framework that provided SASTEK with the ability to offer a new product line that could be delivered quickly and efficiently.• Mentored graduate developers and trained them in the principles of elegant design and programming.• Developed and implemented a training program to teach object oriented programming principles to experienced non-object oriented programmers

Achievements:• Restructured the information services that VQA offered from a flat-file manual process to an automated internet-based information delivery system which significantly reduced the cost of providing the service.• Developed data replication services with redundancies that allowed information to be delivered from remote harsh environments to a central location in a timely manner to meet legislative requirements.• Designed and led the development of a web-based system for the delivery of information to the customers of VQA’s clients. This provided VQA with a significant revenue stream that did not previously exist.• Designed and implemented Software Development Best Practices and Standards.• Identified gaps in developer’s skills sets and, in consultation with the developers, developed individual training programs for each developer.
