Platoon SergeantAs a Platoon Sergeant for Landing Support Company, day to day operations varied drastically. A platoon sergeant is the most experienced non-commissioned officer (NCO) and second in command in a platoon. They are responsible for many tasks, including advising the platoon leader, upholding standards and discipline, managing administration, logistics, and maintenance, including equipment, and develops relationships with each Marine to ensure moral is high.Lead Administrative RepresentativeFrom December 2018 to August 2019, I was hand selected to work directly under the Commanding Officer of the Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force (SPMAGTF) 19.1. SPMAGTF units respond to crises, conduct contingency operations, and perform other missions. They are self-mobile and self-sustaining forces of Marines and sailors that can be ready to respond at a moment's notice. SPMAGTFs are trained to support United States and partner interests in specific areas of responsibility. With over 400 Marines and Sailors to account for, my duties included the tracking and wellbeing of each individual, scheduling training, conducting briefings, and being the Commanding Officer lead administrative assistant.Logistical SpecialistAs a Marine Corps Logistics Specialist, I performed various duties that supported the establishment, maintenance and control of the transportation on beaches, landing zones, ports (air and sea), and terminals (rail, truck, and container). During my military Career, I have been a part of and led close to one hundred of these operations, accounting for, tracking, and successfully transporting millions of dollars worth of military equipment during these operations.
