Environmental Specialist
CurrentMonitor and ensure compliance with wastewater discharge permits, local and state environmental regulations.Perform routine inspections of wastewater systems to ensure proper functioning and compliance with company policies & regulatory standards.Oversee the collection & testing of wastewater samples to ensure they meet regulatory requirements.Prepare/submit required reports to regulatory agencies, including discharge monitoring reports & any compliance documentation.Investigate, record, & compile reports for environmental-related complaints.Primary point of contact for regulatory agencies in CA, including but not limited to agencies such as AQMD, Cal EPA, and CA Water Boards, etc.Manage permits, certifications, and regulatory filings related to environmental compliance, ensuring timely renewals & adherence to regulatory requirements.Address regulatory inquiries, audits, and inspections, working closely with agencies to resolve issues & maintain positive relationships.Collect, analyzes, and manages environmental data & performs risk & quality control assessments.Assist in the development and implementation of EHS policies and procedures that align with Company standards and regulatory requirements.Participate in risk assessments, environmental audits, and incident investigations, contributing to corrective action planning.Develop guidelines for the disposal of hazardous materials.Develop and facilitate EHS training programs, ensuring that employees are educated on wastewater compliance, safety practices, & environmental protection measures.Maintain accurate records of all permits, inspection reports, regulatory correspondence, & other compliance-related documentation.Manage waste manifests for hazardous waste.Support Operations leadership in planning and organizing safety meetings, training sessions, & regulatory inspections.Assist in preparing EHS reports, such as compliance metrics, risk assessments, & environmental impact summaries.
