I am very privileged to lead a talented group of over 30 construction lawyers, providing the full spectrum of construction law services (transactional, procurement advice, live project advice, all forms of dispute resolution including mediation) to UK and international clients.

David was the Construction & Infrastructure co-lead at Charles Russell Speechlys. He works with a wide variety of the firm's clients, across multiple sectors. David regularly writes and speaks on construction law and the construction sector, and is quoted in the trade and other press on such matters. He is an editor of "Partnering and Collaborative Working" (published by Informa Law / Routledge). He also has an extensive following on social media (LinkedIn, Twitter (DavidSavage_Law) and Instagram (construction_lawyer)).

Prior to the merger between Charles Russell LLP and Speechly Bircham LLP, David was head of the Charles Russell Construction & Engineering business group, and also head of both Charles Russell's Property Division (now known as CRED) and its Property Sector group. He continued to lead the Construction Engineering & Projects Group post merger until 2017, completing 12 years in that role.

David was a construction partner in the London office of Hammonds, working as part of a large construction and engineering group then consisting of 22 construction partners and over 70 construction lawyers in total. David worked closely with the Head of Group as it saw rapid growth in both reputation and size of the team, in both the UK and internationally. David's largest client at this time was the Mayor for London / TfL, where he advised on the close out of major claims arising from the various mechanical and electrical packages on the £4bn Jubilee Line Extension Project.

David was a pupil barrister at Keating Chambers from 1994-5. His pupil masters were Paul Darling (now Paul Darling OBE KC), Nerys Jefford (now the Honourable Mrs Justice Jefford DBE) and Finola O'Farrell (now the Honourable Mrs Justice O'Farrell DBE). He stayed on working through Chambers until October 1997, and was involved in a number of major arbitrations, including in relation to major commercial office developments in the UK and large infrastructure projects in Hong Kong.

Prior to studying law at the LSE, David worked for Shell in a pre-university job, supporting the additive trading division. He specialised in translating spreadsheet based business financial and performance data into business graphics for mid and senior level management presentations.
