With over 30 years of experience in the fields of peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and international education, I am passionate about empowering individuals and organizations to make a positive difference in the world. As the president of the Forage Center for Peacebuilding and Humanitarian Education, Inc., a 501 c3 non-profit organization, I lead the development and delivery of experiential-based education and training programs that prepare professionals and students for humanitarian and peacebuilding work in complex and challenging environments.I also leverage my expertise and credentials as a career coach, consultant, speaker, lawyer, mediator, professor, trainer, program officer, and author to support the growth and development of diverse and dynamic sectors and audiences. I have consulted with over 800 colleges and universities, given over 1000 talks, and published multiple books and articles on topics related to careers, peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and international education. I am a Fulbright U.S. Scholar, a TEDx presenter, a Forbes Coaches Council member, and a recipient of the William J. Kreidler Award for Distinguished Service to the field of Conflict Resolution.I am committed to advancing the knowledge and practice of peacebuilding and humanitarian education as a faculty member at George Mason University's Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution and a member of the advisory board for the master's in humanitarian action at the University of San Diego's Kroc School of Peace Studies. In addition, I have taught at American University, Drexel University, Georgetown University, Towson University, Goucher College, and Harford Community College. I recently helped launch the Community Colleges Chapter of the Fulbright Association.
