Nexus is the exclusive official publishing company for the Commonwealth Secretariat, specialising in digital and print media, event planning, event organising and advisory services. The company produces official titles such as The Commonwealth Yearbook, Commonwealth Education Partnerships and Commonwealth Health Partnerships as well as organising the Conference for Commonwealth Education Ministers.As Partnership Coordinator it was my role to first research and then engage with prospective partners and speak with them about their marketing and public relations strategies, selling advertising space in one of the publications Nexus produces to the organisation. As I was assigned six countries from across the Commonwealth, it was critical to understand the nuances of different countries and their cultures, particularly with relation to the power of various marketing and communications operations within the country.

For the last 10 years, Mash have been UK-wide specialists in providing personality profiled promotional staff, corporate event staff and in-store sales staff to the UK's biggest and best brands, on a number of award-winning campaigns. The company has expanded to include offices in Glasgow, UK and Melbourne and Sydney, Australia.Initially employed as a Brand Ambassador, I quickly progressed through Supervisor and Assistant Event manager roles before taking on my first campaign as Event Manager in November 2007. The campaigns involved a variety of brands from the FMCG, technological, beauty, charitable and banking sectors, and focused on providing target driven marketing and sales activities to raise brand awareness at events, shopping centres and company headquarters. On many campaigns I would also look after social media for the brand for the duration. In 2009 I took on the role of Regional Recruiter for the East Anglia area, with responsibility of recruitment and training of new staff members.Between 2011 and 2014 I worked for several temporary spells (4-8 weeks) at the company's headquarters in London as an Account Executive, undertaking many account management duties and assisting the Account Director in delivering large scale projects for ASDA involving over 400 staff at over 250 locations.
