Things I've worked on:- Led implementation of LLM-powered news summary, scoring, and refinement pipeline that powers Brief.news, an AI generated newsletter. Condenses 10,000+ articles per day into the most important stories across a wide variety of topics- Managed technical design and execution of user-submitted RSS feature, simultaneously initiating data migration from Firestore and GetStream to Postgres, replacing third-party service with our own API- Created bespoke PDF viewer to display and annotate PDF documents in Upnext’s mobile and web apps, incorporating our custom highlighting solution, thereby avoiding significant engineering effort to create and support a PDF-specific format- Developed third-party integrations to sync annotations made in Upnext in real time to Readwise and Notion, in contrast to competitor's delayed, one-time syncs- Built file upload and ingestion system, integrating with existing content parsing pipeline and supporting uploads from both iOS devices and browsers- Implemented email forwarding feature that parses content from emails and newsletters sent to user’s inboxes and saves it to user’s libraries- Set up mobile push notifications via integration with OneSignal- Built the video player for Upnext’s mobile and web apps- Implemented video timestamp “highlights” to allow annotations to video content- Spearheaded creation and automation of user data export feature- Created iOS native home page widgets and “Save to Upnext” iOS shortcut- Built process to send daily “Upnext Digest” emails to highlight new content for users in their inboxes- Implemented “Continue Reading” feature to record user’s reading position when they exit an article and resume there when it is reopenedOther Roles and Responsibilities:- Customer support lead- Main on-call engineer- Onboarded new users
