I greatly enjoy learning about a company’s technology, so that I can bring together the technical and legal aspects required to prepare a robust patent specification. During my time as a patent attorney I have drafted over a thousand new patent specifications, and successfully prosecuted many of them through to grant in Europe and further afield. I also regularly give educational seminars and workshops on various aspects of patent practice. Including how, in relation to computer-implemented inventions, the right type of software can be patented. This draws on my experience of being involved in a successful appeal to the English High Court for Astron Clinica et al in 2007, following which the UKIPO’s practice of not granting claims for computer programs was overturned.Potter Clarkson maximises value from your innovation.
