My name is David Jurmann, and for my entire life, my goal has and always will be to use my voice to tell the most personal and human stories I can. As a storyteller, I've always looked at past and present artists who have used their work to communicate something powerful, creative and thought provoking. That's what I've always loved about filmmaking; it's a way to tell a personal story through other people's eyes, but it doesn't lose any of the impact. I also love the idea of teamwork. People often mistake directing for leading, and while a director is certainly at the helm of the ship, the film isn't just theirs. It's a long creative process that's elevated by every single person who works on it. Every short film I've ever written and made has come from the heart, and that's something I believe is necessary in the art of filmmaking. But it also comes from the hard work and passion from the people I work with. When I work, I work with passion, ambition, and love, and that's something I think everything we do should have.
