David William Kazuguri is an entrepreneur and innovator dedicated to transforming urban waste into sustainable solutions for food, climate, and environmental challenges. Leveraging circular economy principles, emerging technologies, and bio-based innovations, he repurposes waste into eco-friendly products, including NPK fertilizers, feed formulas, Eco Plastic Packaging and food additives. As Co-founder and CEO of YaKwetu Biotech, David leads the development of eco-friendly NPK fertilizers that reduce farmers' reliance on synthetic alternatives, lower costs, and enhance climate resilience. His work advances sustainable agriculture while promoting environmental stewardship and empowering smallholder farmers across East Africa. David has been instrumental in establishing seaweed valorization startups such as Kijani Biotech and Coastal Biotech and played a pivotal role in founding Kesho AI, an AI-powered early warning system for climate resilience in Tanzania. His leadership and technical expertise have driven innovative projects that address critical challenges in agriculture and climate adaptation. An alumnus of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) program, the University of Dar es Salaam, and Mbeya University of Science and Technology, David combines technical knowledge, entrepreneurial skills, and leadership to champion circular and sustainable innovation. He is committed to driving Africa’s progress through impactful, climate-resilient solutions.
