I am the Senior Regulatory Lead for the programme delivery stage of DCC's programme lifecycle. Me and my team are responsible for providing regulatory support and advice to internal procurement programmes following contract signature up until their implementation to live. This includes developing and consulting on any changes required to our governing Licence and Energy Codes, ensuring any regulatory documents relating to testing and transitional arrangements are implemented, and managing the submission of evidence to satisfy the live service criteria. My work requires close co-ordination and engagement with many teams across DCC and with DESNZ.I am undertaking a review of the knowledge and information management processes utilised within my department. The goal of this work is to deliver a single, consistent platform and mechanism for storing and retrieving information and documentation.I am also working on assessing the impact of Ofgem and DESNZ's Energy Code Reform on DCC, working across the company to understand the impacts, and engaging with Ofgem and DESNZ.

I was a Senior Consultant with a focus on governance and regulatory activities and support. I used my knowledge and experience of the energy sector and its code and governance arrangements to provide support and guidance across the wider team and to the governing Panel on these and on the corresponding obligations and processes. As part of this, I drafted responses to industry consultations affecting the arrangements. I also engaged regularly with other regulatory and delivery bodies including DCC, DESNZ and Ofgem.I worked to consolidate and streamline processes for understanding and responding to the wide array of issues and discussions affecting the arrangements. Through this I sought to implement a holistic and joined-up approach across the wider team, to facilitate effective communication between teams as remote working becomes more prevalent.I also chaired the Code Administration Code of Practice (CACoP) Forum, a meeting of the industry Code Administrators, during the SEC's turn in 2023. This group's main aim is to achieve greater co-ordination and consistency across the various industry codes and support the delivery of initiatives that benefit consumers and competition. I drove change to this group to ensure more valuable discussions and knowledge sharing could take place between the different sets of arrangements.

I led and managed a team of change and business analysts plus additional expert support to deliver the process for assessing and delivering changes to the rules governing the smart metering arrangements (modifications and releases). I developed the strategy for the team and enhanced the services we provided to deliver a ‘Code Manager’ service. I also chaired two committees responsible for overseeing the progression and making the decisions on changes. I worked closely with regulatory and delivery bodies including SECCo, the SEC Panel, DCC, DESNZ and Ofgem, and built the team's relationships with each of these bodies. I also worked to enhance our relationship and working practices with DCC, as the systems delivery body, to reduce the extremely high cost and time required for it to deliver change, with marked improvements being realised.I grew and developed the team, members’ skills, and the service we provide to deliver services as a 'critical friend'. I upskilled the team from five analyst-grade members initially to eight consultant-grade members, and saw several members of the team promoted during this time. I initiated and oversaw full reviews of the change processes and the corresponding internal processes, streamlining these where possible and ensuring all processes were fully documented.

I led and supported on a range of short- and long-term projects, predominantly around providing assurance services for clients and customers within the Irish electricity arrangements.I was the lead for the operational delivery of assurance services to the Irish electricity retail market for market entry and market design changes. As part of this, I progressed the development and delivery of a contract management plan, and undertook a full review of the contract, documenting all processes and enhancing the service that we provided to the client. I also supported on other assurance contracts in both the Irish and GB markets.I also acted as a mentor for junior members of staff in different areas of the business, drawing upon my experience to help them achieve their career goals.

As a Market Advisor I was recognised for the extensive knowledge and experience of the industry arrangements built up over my previous roles. I provided specialist support, advice and analysis for internal colleagues and external customers as a subject matter expert.I led on the progression of sensitive changes to the energy loss allocation arrangements arising from the CMA’s conclusions to its energy market investigation. I liaised closely with industry participants and stakeholders, providing objective support and advice and ensuring all views and impacts were captured and reported. I produced high-quality, clear and detailed documents at each stage of the process.I led on the development of additional data checking processes following several high-materiality disputes arising from errors in these files. I worked with colleagues in the operational teams and with our service providers to develop and impact assess the additional checks and ensure these fitted into the existing processes and timescales.

I led the progression, development and assessment of a portfolio of proposed changes to the GB electricity balancing and settlement arrangements and rules, from a proposal being raised through to the final decision. This involved a mix of business analyst, project management and subject matter expertise skill sets. I was promoted to Senior Change Analyst in October 2013.I ensured all requirements were captured and appropriate solutions identified, developed and assessed. I liaised closely with industry participants and stakeholders, providing objective support and advice to ensure all requirements, views and impacts were captured and reported. I produced high-quality, clear and detailed documents covering each proposed change, and presented these to the relevant decision-making bodies for decision, ensuring that key milestones were met along the way to allow for timely decisions.I regularly chaired and facilitated a wide range of workgroups made up of industry participants, convened to assess and develop solutions to proposed changes.I initiated and led on a review of the change processes and the corresponding internal processes, using my extensive knowledge and experience to ensure a robust, thorough, best-in-class change process was not only maintained but enhanced for the benefit of stakeholders.I was recognised by my peers and managers as an experienced and knowledgeable analyst who could be fully relied upon to successfully lead on highly technically and politically sensitive changes. This included the outcomes of Ofgem's Electricity Balancing SCR, changes relating to Elexon’s governance, and the CMA’s conclusions to its energy market investigation.Following my promotion, I also task managed the change processes and other areas of work and line managed junior analysts in the team.

I was responsible for data extraction, manipulation and presentation, for use internally and externally, and was recognised as a first point of contact for such queries or requests. I produced data and graphs for use in external publications, including one piece for the Times on wind generation.I was responsible for the co-ordination and management of changes to a key inbdustry database required to ensure co-ordination across energy suppliers and for registration of the units used to track electricity generation and consumption.I prepared and presented decision papers to the Panel Committees, with the outcomes often directly impacting industry participants. I proposed and implemented various process improvements, including outsourcing internal processes to ELEXON's service providers and creating efficient spreadsheets for regular data-heavy tasks.I responded to numerous customer queries on a range of topics, and was awarded the Institute of Customer Service (ICS) Communications Award.
