Amongst industry, ANFF is now seen as a solution provider of choice, and ANFF can utilise new sources of revenue. Led and organised an international ANFF delegation to Canada, UK, Denmark, Belgium and France to obtain an intimate understanding of the global quantum and semiconductor industry. Impacts include raising ANFF’s international profile through presentation at gala dinners and the negotiation of MOU’s and work programs with partner organisations to enhance opportunities for sharing best practice in research and operating world class national research infrastructure facilities. Seconded to the Semiconductor Sector Service Bureau (S3B) to provide strategic and operational support during its start-up stage. A recently launched initiative, S3B will enhance the capability, workforce, market connectedness and competitiveness of NSW and Australia’s semiconductor sector, as well as addressing market frictions and failures that curtail NSW and Australia’s ability to participate in global semiconductor markets.Working with S3B and Office of the NSW Chief Scientist facilitated industry engagement workshops to obtain empirical evidence of the need for translational research infrastructure.
