I have a VERY hybrid background in both the arts and technology. As a result, I've brought a systems-based approach to how I facilitate, train, and teach my clients and students. MORE importantly, my background in both fields allows me to be fluent in both left-brained and right-brained environments, something that I’ve learned is quite rare. In the arts, I have over two decades of experience as a professional actor, writer, director, and producer. I’m a member of SAG/AFTRA, have written and sold my work to major motion picture studios as well as online and continue to direct and produce various projects. These include "Fake Radio", America's Premier Old-Time-Radio comedy troupe and "The Wonderful Woman of OZ" a one-woman adaptation of the fabled L. Frank Baum story.I'm currently teaching both performance-based and life skills-based (also known as “applied”) improvisation to humans of all ages and abilities at classes in our studio AND out at companies and non-profits in Portland and around the country. In tech, I was a Senior SysAdmin for Nike Retail in Portland. Before that, I held a similar position for 7.5 years at The J. Paul Getty Trust in Los Angeles. In those roles, I revolutionized how Apple’s hardware and software could be managed via key Enterprise systems. My jobs in theater and tech all entailed many of the same, core skills: building in-person and online communities; building websites and digital communication strategies; and authoring press releases to help create buzz. More importantly, my jobs in both of these fields have given me the in-demand skills of preaching and practicing effective communication; working within tight budgets, reducing costs, using technology to automate, and working with difficult individuals to achieve stunning results.
