I manage banking relationships, Board and shareholder reporting, corporate development (with others), corporate finance, valuations, credit oversight, insurance, the Controllership and enterprise risk management.In 2016, IT was added to my domain, with the CIO and 30 associates, and I helped plan and lead the global rollout of SAP ERP and implemented SAP BPC budgeting system. In my years, I’ve helped significantly grow the value of the private company value, revamped a complex insurance program; led the team that sourced a new supply chain for a rare material; upleveled our IT and reporting capabilities; played a key role on an acquisition; worked with R&D on a new product financial model; and launched new training programs to promote better business decisions. Buckman first hired me to bring their outsourced internal audit function in-house and I built the function from scratch, traveling internationally. I designed and rolled out an audit assistant program where I would “borrow” staff from global operations for a few weeks to work on my audits, which remains in place because it allows cross-border knowledge exchange, relationship building and cross-pollination of ideas and processes.

Varco Pruden made pre-engineered steel buildings for retail, warehouses and factories, and I was recruited to lead the financial and legal aspects on a small team dedicated to international expansion and setting up foreign joint ventures. I stood up accounting and finance processes for joint ventures in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, China and Mexico and created a standardized blueprint for financial operations and reporting of each new venture.

Price Waterhouse recruited me out of college to conduct audits, and I was assigned to companies in agribusiness, manufacturing, banking, commodity and bond trading, offshore banking, captive insurance and funds.
