Responsible for horizontal AI capabilities that power products such as Bing, Cortana, Office and Azure.  The group includes Bing knowledge graph and Satori platform, Substrate and Office intelligence, Bing Ads marketplace and ad platform, Shared data and analytics platform, Analysis and experimentation, AI Tools and infrastructure, Engineering fundamentals, along with Privacy and security compliance.  David also serves at the Chief Technology Officer for the Artificial Intelligence and Research (AI+R) division. David is responsible for Microsoft’s STCA, the search technology center in Beijing and Suzhou. David played instrumental role in setting up the Microsoft Taiwan AI development center in 2018.

Responsible for information and platform technologies for Bing-powered experiences, including Web of documents, intent and conversational understanding, core relevance, Satori platform for entities and knowledge, speech recognition and synthesis, augmented reality and NUI interaction models. Responsible for Bing Ads search marketing platform, including ad marketplaces, applied sciences for prediction and optimization, global ad platform, and syndication. Responsible for Shared Platforms that includes data & analytics, data mining and experimentation, cloud infrastructure, and shared engineering fundamentals.

Responsible for Advertising products and technology at Yahoo!, including display and search advertising, targeting, analytics, exchange, and convergence of search and display advertising.

Responsible for Search experience, Social Search, Vertical Search (Shopping, Image, Video, Local, etc.), Flickr, Vertical Search Platform, Mobile Search, and Shortcuts

Responsible for technology venture investment in the Greater China area, including China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
