Chief Technology Officer And Co-Founder
Vice President Of Engineering
Current
Director, Aws Network Services
While at AWS, I led the development of a groundbreaking network software project at AWS that leveraged Intent-Driven Networking to re-invent how the AWS network is managed. This greenfield initiative involved building a suite of control plane services from the ground up, designed to enable network fabric teams to scale and manage one of the largest and most complex networks on the planet. My responsibilities spanned product definition, development, testing, and operation of these services, which are critical to the growth of the AWS network and Amazon as a whole. During this period, I built and scaled the team that developed this pioneering project, ensuring we had the right expertise and capabilities to meet our ambitious goals. The team subsequently expanded to become the Network Fabric Controllers team, which had a charter that spanned all Data Center Software Defined Network Controllers within AWS. This team, composed of roughly 90 software development engineers, network development engineers, and managers, was responsible for the development and maintenance of all management and control plane software within AWS Machine Learning network fabrics. These systems were successfully deployed across virtually all Amazon Data Centers. The nascent Machine Learning systems management and control systems were deployed across dozens of data centers and across tens of thousands of devices, rapidly scaling to become the largest production network fabric in AWS within a period of 8 months. As the business owner, I was responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of these services, which played a critical role in supporting AWS’s fastest-growing customer segment.During this time, I also co-led the acquisition of Intentionet, a small company with expertise in network validation and verification. I was heavily involved in the due diligence, on-boarding, and integration of the team within my organization.
