I taught in the Cinema Department at Binghamton University—legendary home of such filmmakers at Ken Jacobs, Hollis Frampton, Stan Brakhage, Ernie Gehr, Nicholas Ray, Larry Gottheim, and Vincent Grenier, among others. In the Fall and Spring, I taught the large gateway course "Experience, History, and Analysis of Cinema" along with upper-division courses on specialized topics such as Transcendental Cinema, The Essay Film, Artist Films, and the application of Stanley Cavell's work to contemporary cinema.
