As a Professor of Physics at the Hanson Center for Space Science, I have over 30 years of experience in applying science to solve real-world problems and support societal needs. My mission is to use smart sensing technologies, such as distributed sensing systems, machine learning, wearables, and remote sensing, to provide scientific insight and decision support for preemptive human protection, the environment, and human health.I love working with multidisciplinary teams of scientists, engineers, and students to develop and deploy innovative sensing solutions, such as robotic teams, unmanned aerial vehicles, smart city sensors, and biometric sensors. I have also contributed to the advancement of knowledge and education in the fields of atmospheric chemistry, big data, smart cities, and health applications, through multiple publications, awards, and teaching roles. I am passionate about using science to create a more sustainable and resilient society.
