The Center for Injury Prevention Policy and Practice (CIPPP), founded in 1986, is housed with the Graduate School of Public Health at the San Diego State University. The federal "sequester" led to a loss of funding effective August 31, 2013. Programs included: 1) SafetyLit, a no-cost Web-based research literature archive and weekly summary of recent injury prevention research, published in collaboration with the World Health Organization [The SafetyLit project continues within the SafetyLit Foundation.]; 2) The Older Adults Transportation Safety Project involves coordinating a multi-agency, public-private task force charged with developing and implementing tranaportation safety policies; and 3) The California Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health Injury Prevention Program provides in-depth technical assistance to state and local MCH agencies.
