    David continued building on his transformation and technology expertise by leading application transformation and operations. At a major electric retailer David lead the transition and ongoing support for an Application Managed Services Program. This included a transitioning from multiple providers, building a global delivery team and establishing and integrating processes. The scope included SAP, CRM, Web and Business Intelligence. The transition included ramp up of 100 global team members, 1600 hours of knowledge transfer and coordination with 68 knowledge SME’s. As a part of the program, David also lead a transformation initative that improved performance of the customer-facing website by 6x. Based on the success of this Program, David went on to lead a similar, but larger, program at Vistra Energy Corporate. Here David lead a complex transition of application support and development for over 100 applications. David built a global team of 150+ personnel that transformed IT capabilities in support of the business. David provided leadership for major transformation initiatives that included implementation of a Trading and Risk Management System, migration to Oracle Exadata, migration of email to the Microsoft Cloud and implementation of a test automation program. David also lead the initial phase of an IT Automation Program. The team created an automation inventory of 200+ items, established a meaningful categorization approach and prioritized development activities. A development team implemented the first phase of approximately 100 automation routines that resulted in improved system monitoring and automation of daily support tasks.During this time David also expanded his Quality Assurance responsibilities to include both Infrastructure and Application Management Projects. David served as a QA Director for 10+ client teams with $80M of annual revenue.

This role included serving a wide variety of clients including Reliant Energy, Washington Gas, Affirmative Insurance, L’Oreal USA, Starwood Hotels, Allianz, Celanese, Caterpillar, Hostess Brands, Stanford Hospitals, and Citizens Bank. At Citizens Bank David assembled a diverse global team of 100+ network engineers and developers to complete a Network Transformation Program. The Program impacted 15,000 users in 1500 locations resulting in $10M/year in savings. David was initially brought in to address delivery issues and quickly made course corrections to get the program back on track. At Caterpillar, David directed a global production services team of 80 people in three locations (United States, South America, Asia) that supported business-critical IT applications for company dealers in Asia, Europe, Middle East, Australia, Latin America and the United States.During this time, David also began serving as a Quality Assurance Director for numerous Infrastructure Managed Services and Transformation Projects. In addition, David continued to build on his commercial management skills through involvement in contract negotiations and becoming a recognized leader in managing the various cost components of complex global delivery teams.

    During this period David stepped into a business operations role for Andersen Consulting. A key reason for pursuing this role was to be at home in support of his family. David lead the startup and operations of the 700 person “SolutionWorks” Solution Center in St. Petersburg, Florida. SolutionWorks served clients in the customization and implementation of a Utility Customer Billing application. David was responsible for the start-up of the facility and growing it to over 100,000 square feet of space. This role included working with architects, real estate managers and construction companies to build out and maintain the facilities. David was also responsible for all aspects of the center’s operations from human resources, financial management, legal and commercial and office technology. David was personally involved in each of these components, including hiring 300 people. During this period David also served as the Business Operations Lead for the firm’s Microsoft and SAP Solution Centers. David provided commercial and operational support for over 30 solution center locations and 2,500 people around the world with a budget of $84M. David implemented performance measurement metrics that provided a clear picture of progress against key financial, operational, value delivery, and human resources goals.

David also lead Implementation of a fixed asset accounting system at a major city government as well as a deferred tax accounting system at a major electric utility company.In 1992 David was promoted to Associate Partner as a result of his leadership on a major project for Texas Utilities. The multi-year 25,000 workday project included the design, development and implementation of maintenance management software for TU’s Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant as well as fossil-fueled power plants. In 1989 the consulting division of Arthur Andersen was re-branded to Andersen Consulting.
