For the communication team of the Antwerp World Diamond Center (AWDC) I photograph their events.My first assignment was their staff party which had Roaring Twenties as theme. Literally every invitee was dressed up, the decoration of the party was amazing: a dream for every event photographer.Other events are more public with workshops, kids corners and food trucks.At one occasion my press experience came in particularly handy: the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo visited the diamond area and the offices of AWDC in Antwerp. Lots of security pushing me, heaps of press photographers, loads of running around backward while taking pictures. But at the end I got to deliver a nice bunch of photos showing the ambiance and emotions of the visit.

Living Tomorrow en Tomorrowlab is a modern company and this shows in every person, every activity. Positivity and innovation go hand in hand. The building sings with energy while never losing its cool. I have photographed their directory board and some very interesting events. The Hackathon 2020 for instance was a feast of inventiveness and collaboration.

The local government of Puurs-Sint-Amands contacted me to help bring life to their 2-monthly information magazine.The assignements consist of portraits of locals, artists, entrepreneurs and pictures of town activities.The people of the communication department are a dream to work with. Their desires are clear and the feedback has been extremely positive. When I arrive at an appointment people have been told that I am a very good photographer. This gives me such a boost and completely changes the vibe of the photoshoot. Getting respect is extremely rewarding and at Puurs-Sint-Amands they have a lot of respect!

The Erasmus Brussels University of Applied Sciences and Arts is affiliated with Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). Both higher education institutions work together in the Brussels University Association. They have 6.600 students clustered in 7 departments and 2 Schools of Arts.Their efficient communication department contacted me to make natural and spontaneous portraits of students. These photos are used on their websites and in folders.Besides that I have made pictures during opening ceremonies and New Year's concerts.They have a blind faith in my ability to show exactly what they need. Their enthusiasm is contagious!

CIONET is a network of Chief Information Officers that organizes events for their ever growing community. I am the house photographer for the Belgian community of CIONET.I cannot say I always understand what they talk about during their lectures, workshops and talks but I do know I like to be amidst them. CIO's see business and technology very differently from the way I do. The way their minds work, their logic and understanding is very refreshing and educational.The people of CIONET give me complete freedom and trust as a photographer, which is what I love and which helps me create the best images for their communication channels. At first I was shy being among those important business profiles. Later it became easier to mingle and talk to them (avoiding getting too technical ;)

In 2009 chief editor Geert Selleslach contacted me to fill a spread every month during a year. Randkrant had come across my work at an exposition of my portraits in their building.This collaboration resulted in the series "Kleine Verhalen, Straffe Verhalen", a photographic series of portraits picturing people with their small joys and occupations.From then on I started working for Randkrant on a monthly basis.They send me assignments and give me total freedom to fill them in as I consider fit. This amount of confidence and trust is delighting and motivating.

The Vlaamse Stichting Verkeerskunde (VSV) is a governmental organisation that strives to bring the amount of road casualties down to zero.As someone who spends a lot of time in traffic I am very well aware of the perils on the road. The many events hosted by VSV have made me think more about circumstances of, and solutions for traffic problems.I have become part of their events, as I have not missed one since 2009. Besides photographing their workshops and seminars, I frequently provide pictures of traffic situations, (motor)cyclists, skaters and such.The VSV provides me with guidelines for the content of the pictures. I fill in the rest. They use my photos for their educational print, social media, websites and campaigns.

As a local press photographer I get to dig into all aspects of society. This job has everything a photographer like me can ask for: social contact with all layers of the community, visual challenges, deadlines, many opportunities to develop photographic and social skills, inspiration and teamwork.The job has made me more agile, very fast, creative and to-the-point.I work with a steady team of 5 journalists to deliver photos and video to accompany their articles online and in the newspaper.Het Laatste Nieuws is part of DPG Media and is the largest newspaper in Belgium. Working for a big company with rapidly changing managers and chief editors has taught me to adapt to change very swiftly.
