The association provides national and state scholarships, specifically to students who have significant obstacles to overcome in the pursuit of their education. In my role as Field Director, I support the mission of the Horatio Alger Association by serving as a liaison to local secondary schools and other mission-appropriate organizations, attending local events, corresponding with program alumni, and promoting other scholarships offered by the Association such as the Targeted Scholarship and Career and Technical Education Scholarship.

As an AmeriCorps*VISTA assignee, I manage several projects to analyze and measure program effectiveness and efficiency. -Data Project Management. Identify legacy data sets and adapt them to modern standards for data processing and analysis. -Data Analysis and Collection. Conduct data analysis, creating new and relevant statistics needed for fundraising, recruiting, graduate support, curricular, and programmatic planning.-Research and Teamwork. Collaboratively target areas for improvement in technology and programming. -Strategic Adviser. Determine what data are most useful for analysis and teach stakeholders how to collect and maintain the most important information. Advise school officials on best practices.-Communications.
