As a recruiter, my overall goal is to connect the right people to the right opportunity. Ultimately that involves much listening; listening to the individual and listening to our clients changing needs. I feel that every person I talk to is an opportunity for me to learn and gain insight into the technology field. In a rapidly changing field that is IT, the notion of learning from professionals in the field has proven to be highly valuable. Recruiting is part sales, part social psychology. The product I am offering is people. People are dynamic; they have feelings, hopes, dreams, expectations, and change over time, which is rewarding, and at times frustrating. Understanding these social aspects of life, helps me build foundational connections with others, over time leading me to connect people to the right opportunities.

Contract with School District to co-facilitate a multi-family support group. The purpose of the group was to provide families of students for the district's alternative school. This program focused on family resiliency, communication, development of helping skills, community services, and academic success of the student.

I have been very fortunate having the opportunity to start my counseling career with FIS. As an Intern Counselor, I am responsible for providing family and individual counseling services for students enrolled in Richland School District Two. Over the past two years, I have gained experience in conceptualizing clients with the aim of developing interventions aimed to deliver progress toward clients' goals. I have also amassed experience in various assessments, assessing daily life skills (DLA-20), suicide risk (CSSRS), and trauma (CATS and ACES) and have become adept at collaborative documentation. Interning at FIS has provided me the opportunity to expand my knowledge and practical application of the following counseling models: CBT, TFCBT, Solution-Focused, and Family-Focused interventions. FIS has also afforded me the opportunity to facilitate couples, family, individual, and mandated counseling sessions. This internship has helped me develop real-world counseling skills that align with best practices in the counseling field.

I was responsible for offering supervisory support the Care and Counseling Techniques class. The primary responsibility was providing in-person supervision for role-play counseling sessions, critiquing students on their use of Solutions Focused and CBT counseling skills. I was also tasked with grading assignments, as well as creating and maintaining the classes Canvas portal.
