Ceo/Co-FounderWriteboard 2013 - 2014Writeboard is the world's first WiFi connected whiteboard. My partner and I founded Writeboard with the vision to create the world's first truly smart whiteboard and communal creative hub. Prototypes were made as well as an informative video. The Writeboard firmware was written in Python and a mobile app for both iOS and Android would accompany it. The Writeboard would be comprised of a beautiful milled aluminium 1080p display (in various sizes) and running off an ARM-based CPU. We faced limitations bringing the product to market as being located in South Africa, finding venture capitalists that would provide the necessary sum of funds required as well as supporting us from prototype to launch is incredibly difficult to find. While busy with various other projects, my partner and I decided to put the project on hold. That being said, we have provided inspiration and consulting assistance to other entities that are working on connected, creative tools. Myself and my partner, Nick Rout, were featured prominently in national media, including television, for this project and idea.
