I act as an initial point of contact for clients here in the Maidstone office of Haines Watts, and provide advice on various issues ranging from the preparation of VAT returns, business start-ups to the preparation of group-consolidated accounts. Another aspect of my position is working with clients on planning the future financial growth of their business. This would include working on the preparation of management accounts, and budgets with client and flexing them as the year goes on and a clearer picture of their growth becomes available. My responsibilities are varied, and include ensuring availability of staff for audits, accounts preparation work, client advisory work, and office management. This includes the supervision of audit staff, reviewing audit files and accounts, completing audit files and subsequently reporting to partners and company directors. In addition, I contribute to the on going training of staff and the provision of training to clients on the use of Sage and in developing their own internal systems and financial software.My primary client base consists of company audit, owner managed businesses and medical practitioners, however I also deal with individuals, clubs and associations, sole traders and any other business that requires assistance

I moved to Harwood Hutton in order to gain a more comprehensive experience with an owner managed businesses, from providing personal advice to individuals to running the audits on medium sized companies. While here, I gained valuable insight into how a partnership accountancy firm operates.

I commenced my studies while at MacIntyre Hudson. This was my first position within an accountancy firm after graduating from university. Firstly as a trainee and then as a semi-senior my work was mainly on the audit of medium to large size companies, grant funded colleges and property management companies.
