Dave is a partner at Bond, Schoeneck & King, PLLC working primarily in its Rochester, NY, NYC and Boston offices. He leads the firm's real estate and construction practice. Dave represents Fortune 500 corporations, universities, institutions and businesses throughout the country in the negotiation of complex design, construction and development agreements. He is nationally known for creative and skillful structuring of construction and development projects. Dave has extensive experience in the drafting and negotiation of AIA-based contract documents, LEED® certified and green building agreements, energy performance contracts, design-build and other hybrid agreements. He also represents clients in all types of construction disputes, including claims associated with change orders, delays, acceleration, inefficiencies terminations. He is a founding and former chair of the New York State Bar Association’s Construction Law Committee and regularly lectures on construction-related topics.Dave began his involvement in the construction industry while in college working on contract disputes for a large Massachusetts construction firm and has focused on construction matters since entering the practice of law in 1999. Dave also has a broad real estate practice and regularly represents clients in the acquisition and disposition of commercial real estate, leasing transactions and tax-deferred exchanges.Prior to joining Bond, he was a partner at Nixon Peabody LLP. Dave earned his B.A. in Philosophy from UMASS Amherst (Cum Laude and Commonwealth Scholar) and his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law. He serves on the Board of Directors of Compeer Rochester Inc., the Center for Community Alternatives, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, and is a member of the Governance Committee of the Young Women's College Prep Charter School of Rochester, the Greater Rochester Association for Women Attorneys and Leadership Rochester's class of 2012.
